Faith Community Church is a fellowship of the Assemblies of God denomination headquartered in Springfield, Missouri. Our statement of faith and belief is based on the following... The Bible is God's absolute truth spoken to man as His infallible rule of faith and conduct. God is the eternal Creator and Redeemer of mankind. He is relationally revealed as Father, as Jesus Christ and as the person of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Born of a virgin, He led a sinless life filled with miracles. He gave his life on a cross for the sins of mankind, and was raised from that death to be exalted into the presence of God the Father. Man, being created good, chose to sin and thereby deals with the physical and spiritual consequences of sin. Our only hope is through forgiveness made available by the shed blood of Jesus on the cross. We are to live our life separated from evil and dedicated to God, daily offering every part of our existence to Him. All believers should expect and seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is a special endowment of power for life and service. This special work of God is evidenced by the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as God enables it. Every person is an important part of the body of Christ and needs to do their part in worship of God, building up other believers and sharing the message of Christ to the world. The ordinances of the church are Baptism by immersion to represent the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and Holy Communion, expressing our sharing in His divine nature. Jesus will return for His forgiven and spotless church to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. Those who have not accepted His plan for their sin will spend their eternity in complete separation from God in Hell.
